Athlete Camilla Richardsson, born in Finland, and Bruno Paixão, from Beja Atlético Clube, were the winners, in males and females, respectively, of the main events of the 47th edition of the Grand Prix of Kings, which took place on 7 January, in Faro.

Ana Cabecinha, from Clube Oriental de Pechão, and Jorge Varela, from Clube Desportivo Areias de São João, were also awarded «Regional Road Champions», which contributed to the collective titles of their clubs.

This edition had more than 800 registered athletes at different levels, representing regional clubs, with the presence of athletes from Spain, Estonia, Finland and Romania.

Associated with this event and with the support of FAGAR EM, the 2nd “Grande Water Race” was held, a competition that had around 400 entries, mostly recreational athletes. Even so, Ana Luísa Grade (1st place), Isabel Gonçalves (2nd place) and Patrícia Cabrita (3rd place) stood out on the female podium.

In men's, first place went to Nuno Rocha, followed by Bruno Cordeiro in second and Alberto Valente in third.

These evidences were, according to the Chamber of Faro, «another great day for sport in our county and an excellent dress rehearsal for two important competitions that are coming: the Adept Race, which hits the road on the 28th of January and the I Night Half Marathon of Faro, which will hit the road on March 4th, with details to be announced».
