The replacement of lighting fixtures in nine streets in the center of Lagoa may «cause some constraints to traffic circulation», but only «for short periods of time», as of this Monday and for a week, informs the Municipality of Lagoa.

Street lighting lamps will be replaced on the streets of Espírito Santo, Saco, Dr. Sebastião, João Bentes Castel Branco, Alexandre Herculano, Teófilo Braga, Almirante Reis and Colonel João Bernardo, as well as on Travessa Dr. João Grade (see map).

According to the Municipality of Lagoa, the replacement of luminaires is intended to ensure “better energy efficiency in the municipality” and to reduce “substantially the costs of using conventional energy”.

The municipality explains that traffic conditioning or even interruption can happen "because there is a need for technical access to poles to replace the existing public lighting with a system of LED technology, whose advantages are long service life, maintenance of luminous flux, high luminous efficacy and better color quality».

The works, which last for a week, take place between 8 am and 17 pm. Any traffic interruptions will be “duly signaled”.

Bearing in mind that the area where public lighting will be replaced borders the area where the urban rehabilitation works, it is expected, therefore, increased problems of car circulation in the center of Lagoa, in the week before Christmas.
