New Year's Eve will have a lot of music throughout the Algarve. But there will still be the novelty of the new circus, with the show Maintenant or Never (Now or Never) in Monchique, without forgetting the very – and already traditional – fireworks. The difficult thing will be to choose.
In Lagos, for example, the band of Tim, Zé Pedro, Kalú, João Cabeleira and Gui will take the stage at Praça do Infante at 22:30 pm. There will also be fireworks at 00:00 and more music with DJ Monchike, from 00:15.
In Portimão, the end of the year will have "good proposals" such as fireworks at 12, with eight minutes of duration and 21 thousand shots, and also music with the band "Pau D'Arara", from 23:00 to 02:00.
A little further up, in the middle of the Algarve mountains, Monchique hosts the circus show Maintenant or Never (Now or Never), brought to the Algarve by the French company «Cheptel Aleikoum, Circa Tsuica». Starting at 21 pm, in a tent with a capacity for 00 people set up on the Monchique heliport, this initiative will have exhibitions on the 400th, 29th and 30st of December.
It will be two hours of trapeze, trampoline, bicycle stunts in unstable balances, music, lots of music, sweets, imagination and contemporary humor.
In the municipality of Silves, the party will take place in Armação de Pêra with Quinta do Bill, a well-known Portuguese band, with hits such as «For whom I didn't forget», at 23:15, at Praia dos Pescadores.
The party will also have the usual fireworks, which will mark the transition from 2016 to 2017 and which will light up the entire bay. The program also includes the performance of Duo Sax (22:30 pm) and DJ Paulo Abreu (01:00 am).
Albufeira presents one of the longest programs in the Algarve to celebrate the last days of the year and the first of 2017. From December 29th to January 1st, the «Paderne Medieval» will bring the reality of other times to this village in the interior of the county .
More than 10 thousand visitors are expected for this event, who will be able to visit the medieval market and watch moments of great animation such as dance shows, historical recreations, arts and crafts demonstrations and delight in typical medieval delicacies.
On the 29th, the Solrir Humor Festival will also start, which will also take place on the 30th and on the 1st and 2nd of January. Names such as Herman José, on the 30th, Nilton, on the 2nd, or Serafim, on the 1st, will take the stage at the Palácio de Congressos do Algarve, in Praia dos Salgados.

In Quarteira, the bet is also on national artists. The UHF, voiced by António Manuel Ribeiro, will take the stage at Praça do Mar at 20:30.
After this first performance, there will be a collective toast to the new year, followed by fireworks and the performance of “Who is Bob?”, a group that emerged as a tribute to Bob Marley and his band The Wailers.

In between, at 00:00, there is… fireworks. The group Gerações will precede the Iris at 22:00 pm, and will still return to the stage at 1:00 am for "animation late into the night".
In Tavira, Praça da República will host the concerts by Function Publika, at 22:00, and by DJ Fábio Palma and VJ Draft, at 00:10, right after the fireworks show.
Even more to Lee, Monte Gordo will have a large part of the year-end animations of the municipality of Vila Real de Santo António, with the performance of Anjos, in the first minutes of 2017, being one of the highlights. But the president of the Chamber Luís Gomes will also take the stage twice, with the Latin rhythms and reggaeton by Baby Lores, on the 30th and 31st of December.
On the first day of the festivities, on the 29th, there will be hip hop with “Possessive with Soulution”, from 21 pm. The animation continues with the band «Allmariados» and with «Uns & Outros». This day will be finished off with the beats of the djs «Karussa Jr» and «Bruno Lourenço».
On Friday the 30th of December, from 22 pm onwards, the pop/rock music of «Jorge Querido & Grab it Band» and «Vide Versus» will warm up. The night continues with Baby Lores and Luís Gomes. The evening continues with «Dj Dominique» and the best of the sound disc from the 70s, 80s and 90s and ends with the electronic rhythms of «Alpha Heroes».
On the last day of 2016, the night begins with the rhythms of «Duo Reflexo», which will lead the audience to the beginning of the new year. The party continues with the performance of the musical duo Anjos, «which will offer all those present with many successes of their already long career», according to the Chamber of VRSA, and ends with the dance music of «DJ Gemma & DJ Flip D 'Palm' and 'DJ Smash'.
At the first strokes of 2017, the sky at the beach of Monte Gordo will light up with a firework display to celebrate the new year.
Besides Monte Gordo, the night of São Silvestre will also be marked in Vila Real de Santo António, at Praça Marquês de Pombal, between 22:30 pm and 1:00 am, with the animation of «Zé Aníbal».
In Alcoutim, New Year's Eve is made on the pier, next to the Guadiana River. The musical entertainment starts at 22 pm, with the band «Energie». At midnight, fireworks will light up the skies over the river between Portugal and Spain.
For the third consecutive year, the Arade Congress Center, in Parchal, will be the stage for the “Arade Music Fest”, an initiative of the Municipality of Lagoa, which once again bets on careful organization, on quality facilities that will receive the public with a high level of comfort, safety and excellent views of the Arade river, with tickets already sold out.
In a party that will present the best dance music of the 70s, 80s and 90s and a quality menu, there will be the traditional fireworks at midnight, for about 15 minutes, which can be enjoyed from the outdoor terrace of the Congress Centre, the entire population being invited to do so.
The 2016-2017 New Year's Eve program at the Arade Congress Center starts at 20:00, with a welcome reception with “Sparkling cocktail” and ambient music with Allegro Duet. At 21 pm, dinner begins, with musical entertainment by Daddy Jack Band (funk, soul & disco). After the fireworks at midnight, the NYE Remember Party (00s, 70s & 80s music & videos) with DJ Le Solitaire follows.
