The Algarve municipality was in the city of Ribatejo last Friday, accompanied by companies and local associations of salt production, and promoted what the council has to offer in terms of gastronomy, as well as cultural and tourism.

The stars were, however, the salt and the fleur de sal, which inspired the culinary demonstrations of the Chefs Ricardo Silva and Ricardo Raimundo, which energized throughout the day, seasoning dishes made with other typical ingredients, such as honey, clams, octopus and the “cousin” salicornia, among others.

festivalnacionalgastronomia_santarem (5)The local authority took the opportunity to carry out a charming action, "together with 18 renowned chefs who visited the Lucky 13 restaurant [a space for gourmet cuisine]", to whom they offered an institutional package of salt and fleur de sel. «With the same objective, packages of salt and fleur de sel were delivered to all the restaurants present at the event», according to the Chamber of Castro Marim.

Representatives of Salmarim, Terras De Sal, the National Association of Breeding Goats in the Algarve, Quinta da Fornalha, Guarita Terrace and Praia Verde Boutique Hotel followed the delegation from the Algarve to Santarém.

«Participating in this festival, which celebrates the flavors of tradition and culinary innovation, aims to promote Castro Marim salt as “The Best Salt in the World”, gaining more space in the market and differentiating the product by the excellence of artisanal production», he concluded the Castro-Marinean autarchy.

In addition to Castro Marim, the Algarve was represented at the Santarém Gastronomy Festival by Olhão, who promoted the Ria Formosa seafood there last Monday, trip that the Sul Informação followed.
