The first Electric Bicycle Station in the country will be inaugurated tomorrow, the 24th, at 10:00 am, in Carvoeiro beach. An hour later, a Climbing Wall will be inaugurated in Estômbar. Both projects were voted on by the population, under the Participatory Budget.
The electric bicycles – the only ones in the country with these characteristics – will be activated by an electronic card and will allow them to travel around the county without autonomy problems, since in Ferragudo and Senhora da Rocha (Parches of Porches) there will be two more stations where they will be able to batteries be charged or bicycles changed.
Thus, at 10 am, the cyclist group will leave Carvoeiro towards Lagoa, passing in front of the City Hall building and heading to the Estômbar Municipal Stadium for the inauguration of the Climbing Wall for the practice of the sport, with the requirements required for official evidence.
With three editions of the Participatory Budget already completed, since Francisco Martins took charge of the municipality, the Lagoa City Council has invested 900 euros in 18 works chosen and voted on in annual meetings with the population of Lagos, in six locations in the municipality, in a vote end in which 2.156 people participated.
For 2017, the Câmara de Lagoa will continue to maintain the profile of the current Participatory Budget – having once again attributed the value of 300 thousand euros to it – calling on citizens to express their views on what they want to see implemented for its best quality of life in the county.
