Lagoa Académico Clube took 3rd place in the "2nd Lagoa Swimming Trophy", which took place on the 22nd and 23rd of October, at the Lagoa Municipal Swimming Pool Complex.
This result, the same as last year, is defined by the Lagoa municipality as "remarkable", since the Câmara de Lagoa has been "encouraging and cherishing" the Lagoa Académico Clube "providing all possible technical and logistical support, in the sense to value the commitment and dedication of athletes"
In competition were more than 200 athletes, representing 11 swimming clubs. This competition also involved «families and friends and other public who participated and/or watched the various competitions at different levels», says the Câmara de Lagoa.
Within the scope of the Lagoa program «City of Wine 2016» a tasting of Lagos wines was offered with the aim of encouraging the various clubs «to repeat their presence», adds the executive led by Francisco Martins.
At the end, councilor Luís Encarnação, in the presence of the president of the Algarve Swimming Association Paulo Amaral, Paula Jesus, president of the Algarve Arbitration Council, and the Director of Lagoa Académico Clube José Águas, presented the awards to the athletes «recognizing your appreciation for the efforts of all participants, but also the warm welcome of the public who flocked to the Municipal Swimming Pool Complex in Lagoa», concludes the Câmara de Lagoa.
