O festival Mar Adentro returns this year with a new lease of life, now with two days, on the 14th and 15th of October, bringing together a set of chefs luxury in Restaurant view, located in the Bela Vista Hotel & Spa (Praia da Rocha), to create from what the sea gives them.

Cooking at the flavor of the tide and the whims of the sea: this is the challenge to chefs Mar Adentro participants, who are invited to create new dishes from scratch.

And it's the sea that decides what they're going to cook. "We will only know a day in advance what the sea has brought us to work and, from there, we will develop our dishes, we may have to use more or less noble fish, but always with the intention of 'forcing' us to create something from the zero”, explains João Oliveira, host of the event and Head Vista executive.

João Oliveira's idea is to break the routines and creative processes of his colleagues, as well as to invite them to abandon the ingredients and flavors that are most familiar to them: “I proposed to them the challenge of cooking spontaneously, more creatively and improvisingly, for this is also the pure and hard pleasure of cooking, which we cannot always enjoy due to the pressure inherent in our work”. But the rule also applies to him, the host.

Once again, the festival's greatest accomplice is Pedro Bastos, from Nutrifresco, which usually brings to the table the best of the oceans, as this is an event in which sustainability is immersed and where the sea decides the Menu.

On the first night, dinner will be accompanied by champagne Henri Giraud, and, on the second night, with national and international organic wines. You sommeliers on duty are Miguel Martins, resident of Vista, and António Lopes, of Hotel Conrad Algarve.

And who are the brave ones capable of accepting this challenge without fear of the tides, in this edition of the Deep Sea?

On the first night, on the 14th of October, the chefs responsible for the dinners will be Alexandre Silva (from Crazy, in Lisbon), Rui Silvestre (from Good Good at Carvoeiro, with 1* Michelin), João Rodrigues (from Trading Post, in Lisbon, 1* Michelin), and Arnaldo Azevedo (from Palco, in Port).

On Saturday night, the 15th, the Vista os chefs Miguel Rocha Vieira (from Winch fortress, in Cascais, 1* Michelin), Leonel Pereira (from Saint Gabriel, in Almancil, 1* Michelin), and Carlos Fernandes (pastry chef at Loco). On the two nights, playing at home, the Head João Oliveira and the Vista team, who will also get their hands dirty… and other ingredients.

Each dinner costs 150 euros per person, with water, wine and coffee included, and is exclusive for 30 people per night, starting at 19:30 pm.

This is another unique opportunity to taste what the new national gastronomy tastes like: some of the youngest, most creative and talented will be gathered chefs Portuguese, with the sea as a backdrop, giving new life to the flavors of our coast, without rehearsals and ready to embrace the challenge.

However, and because our cooks also deserve to be pampered, Manuel Maldonado, the Head from the project oyster, is the special guest for an equally special lunch, on Saturday, exclusively for the teams and press present. And what are we going to eat? Everything the Ria de Alvor gives us.

This is the second edition of Mar Adentro, promoted as always by Amuse Bouche by Ana Músico and Paulo Barata, in collaboration with the View Restaurant. Bela Vista Hotel & Spa.
