Travel agents and international journalists are in the Algarve, between today and Friday, to participate in #AlgarveExtravaganza2016, an initiative that aims to promote the Algarve as a destination with a diversified offer, in addition to the “Sol & Mar” product.

#AlgarveExtravaganza2016 is promoted by Associação Turismo do Algarve (ATA), the agency responsible for the external promotion of the region, and consists of «an incentive trip aimed at these professionals in the tourism sector, so that they can have a more comprehensive view of the destination, having the opportunity to experience and be surprised by the diversity of the region's offer».

With this objective, «a surprise program was prepared, which will take place in several municipalities of the Algarve, during which the participants will live a series of exciting experiences that include, among other points, wine tasting, adventure and contact actions. with nature and also the opportunity to taste the local cuisine in some of the most emblematic restaurants in the region», explains ATA.

The intention is to show the Algarve «as a desirable destination for various segments, with the capacity to respond to the motivations and interests of various tourist profiles».

The #AlgarveExtravaganza action is in its fifth edition and, according to ATA, it has proved to be «an effective tool for achieving the goals mentioned in this professional segment».

This year's edition has the participation of a group of 14 travel agents and international journalists from countries like the United Kingdom, France, Ireland and the United States of America.

This stay will also serve to reward the best classifieds of the Online Training Course dedicated to this destination, a training course aimed at travel agents, tour operators, journalists and other agents in the sector, created by ATA with the aim of increasing the knowledge of these professionals about the tourist offer in the region.
