The Chamber of Faro returns to honor the council's teachers, in a ceremony that will take place tomorrow, Tuesday, at 18:00, at the Superior School of Health of the University of Algarve.
The Teacher Reception Ceremony/Merit Awards for the 2015/16 academic year will serve to honor retired teachers for their services, while also rewarding the most outstanding students in the past academic year.
The teacher reception aspect aims to "honor retired teachers whose professional life trajectory was strongly marked by the commitment to the development of their teaching activity, which contributed greatly to the improvement of teaching in this municipality", according to the Chamber of Faro.
This year, the teachers Maria José Arrobe dos Reis Mendonça and Maria da Conceição da Ponte Barriga Paulino, recently renovated, will be distinguished.
The ceremony will also serve to reward the 40 students from different cycles who stood out in the past academic year, «recognizing the effort of their work and the merit in obtaining excellent academic results, through the attribution of Merit Awards».
