In the replacement of existing public lighting with LED technology, 62.264 euros were invested, plus VAT, in Rua 25 de Abril and Rua Vasco da Gama, with 36 luminaires, Rua 1º de Maio and adjacent lanes, with 70 luminaires, in Ferragudo and in Rua de João de Azevedo Lobo (5 lamps) and Largo do Convento de S. The construction of Photovoltaic Power Plants for the production of electricity from renewable sources is also underway, covering several municipal buildings, to be completed by the end of 2016, for an estimated amount of 246.123 euros, plus VAT.

The idea is to create a small production unit both in the Basic School of the 1st Cycle of Lagoa and in the Municipal Auditorium. The Municipal Swimming Pools and the water plant at Cerca da Lapa will receive a production unit.

The Câmara de Lagoa also plans to replace around 500 luminaires per year, starting in 2017, out of a total of around 12500 existing in the municipality.
