Ricardo Araujo PereiraRicardo Araújo Pereira and Carlos Vaz Marques are two of the names confirmed for the Festival F Literary Tertúlias, which takes place on the 2nd and 3rd of September, in Faro. All gatherings will be moderated by Ana Isabel Soares, Professor of Literature at the University of Algarve. 

Ricardo Araújo Pereira and Carlos Vaz Marques inaugurate the Literary Tertúlias of the third edition of F, on the opening day of the festival, September 2nd. On the second and last day of the F, the Tertúlias will have as guests the authors David Machado, Miguel Miranda, Nuno Camarneiro and Pedro Inocêncio, writer who lives in Faro. The locations and times of the gatherings will be announced on Monday.

It is the second time that this initiative, which has the support of FNAC, is held at “F”, after the opening year of 2015. Last year, writers such as Afonso Cruz, Valter Hugo Mãe or Dulce Maria Cardoso visited the Festival.

Who are the guests for the Literary Tertúlias?

Ricardo Araujo Pereira:
Ricardo Araujo Pereira he became known to the general public through the humorous scrimmages of “Gato Fedorento”.
He is the author of the chronicles “Boca do Inferno” published weekly by the magazine Visão, which he accumulated with the program “Mixórdia de Temáticas”, in the mornings of Comercial.
Since 2008, he has been part of the debate program “Governo Sombra” with Carlos Vaz Marques, Pedro Mexia and João Miguel Tavares.

Carlos Vaz Marques:
Carlos Vaz Marques is one of the most prestigious Portuguese journalists. At TSF, with which he has collaborated since 1990, he created the interview space «Personal and… Transmissible» in 2001, and, later, the daily section «O Livro Do Dia».
Director of the Portuguese edition of Granta magazine, the most renowned literary magazine in the world, he also coordinates the Travel Literature Collection in Tinta-da-China.

David Machado:
Author of the novel “Indice Médio de Felicidade” (European Union Award for Literature 2015), “The Night of Invented Animals” (Branquinho da Fonseca Award, from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and the Expresso newspaper) and “O Tubarão na Tubarão” ( Author SPA/RTP 2010 Award for Best Children's Book), David Machado has books and short stories published in several countries.

Miguel Miranda:
Miguel Miranda is a doctor and the author of several novels, short stories and children's books, including “Contos à Moda do Porto” (Story Grand Prix of the Portuguese Writers Association), “O Estranho Caso do Cadaver Sorridente” (Caminho Award) of Police Literature) or “All Colors of the Wind” (finalist of the PEN Narrativa Award 2012).

Nuno Camarneiro:
Winner of the Leya Award in 2012 with the novel «Debaixa de Algum Céu», Nuno Camarneiro published his first and acclaimed novel «No Meu Peito Não Cabem Pássaros» in 2011, later published in Brazil and France.

Pedro Inocencio:
Born in Alentejo, Pedro Inocêncio came to Faro at age 15, where he has lived since.
“Everything happens for a reason” is his first novel.
The author also had the opportunity to see “Poema do amor” as part of the book “Between sleep and dream”, the VI Anthology of Contemporary Poetry, launched by Chiado Editora.
