During the month of August there are events for all tastes in Albufeira, from the concert in Camané, on the 20th, at 22:30 pm, to the 5th stage of the national Footvolley Championship, on the 20th and 21st, at 14:00 pm. In addition to these, Albufeira also hosts the festivities of Nossa Senhora da Orada, in its Ermida, from 11 to 15.
According to the local authority, «from the 11th to the 15th of August Albufeira celebrates the Day of Nossa Senhora da Orada with an exciting procession of candles and the long-awaited Parade by the Sea, which on the 14th, at 16 pm, will bring together dozens of boats. The festivities culminate in a show in the Largo da Igreja de Nossa Senhora da Orada, at 00 pm, by Filipa Sousa & Gato Malvado Ensemble».
During these festivities there is always a rosary, mass and scenic representation in honor of Nossa Senhora da Orada at 21 pm. Finally, on the 30th, the festivities end with a mass at 15 pm.
On the 19th, the celebrations for the day of the Municipality of Albufeira begin. At 19:00 pm there is a summer camp at the Mercado dos Caliços, followed by a solidary walk at 21:30 pm, starting at Largo Paços do Concelho.
On the 20th, the initiatives, within the scope of the Municipality Day, begin at 9:30 am with a raising of the flag, with the National Anthem played by the Band of the Sociedade Musical and Recreio Popular de Paderne, Albufeira, followed by a parade through the city streets. At 10:30 am there will be a presentation of the book “Albufeira Revisitada”, in the main hall of Paços de Concelho. The group stage of the 5th stage of the National Footvolley Championship starts at 14:00, at Praia dos Pescadores.
At 22:30 pm, Camané will take the stage for a concert at Praça dos Pescadores. The day ends with a firework show at Praia dos Pescadores at midnight.
Finally, on the 21st, there is the 11th sea competition in Albufeira, at Praia dos Pescadores, at 11:00 am, followed by the final of the 5th stage of the national Footvolley Championship.
