The remodeling works of the water supply network in Bairro da Cavalinha, in Olhão, which began in early June, will require the cutting of the lane at Rua Dr. Estêvão de Vasconcelos by 5 de Agosto.
However, the Chamber of Olhão says that "during the work, the contractor will guarantee, however, conditions of access to residents, passersby, workers, commerce and services, as well as to emergency and relief vehicles."
The contract for the Remodeling of the Water Supply Network of Bairro da Cavalinha was awarded earlier this year to the company Joaquim Rodrigues da Silva e Filhos Lda., for a value of around 210 thousand euros. The execution period is eight months.
The municipality of Olhano explains that "the intervention consists of the complete replacement of the water distribution network of all streets in the neighborhood with new conduits, made of suitable materials and dimensions, over a length of 2,9 kilometers and benefiting a population of around 2700 population".
The new distribution network also foresees the installation of fire markers at the site and irrigation and washing nozzles will be installed to ensure the irrigation of green areas and the washing of floors.
«Once the work is completed, this neighborhood to the northeast of the old town, bordered to the north by the EN 125 and to the south by the railway line, will have a modern water supply network, with conditions to meet the needs of a growing population», concludes the Municipality of Olhão.
