Tens of thousands of motorbikes, lots of music, including a Tony Carreira concert, typical cuisine, dance, crafts, books and sports activities. These are some of the attractions that Faro has to offer and with which it intends to bring to the street the local population and visitors, throughout the summer.
The International Motorbike Concentration of the Motoclube de Faro, the Festa da Ria Formosa and the Festa Continente, with Tony Carreira as the headliner, are the events that stand out most in the program for the summer season. But the animation is far from stopping there and can be enjoyed now.
Until Sunday, the Fan Zone of Faro, where it will be possible to watch Portugal's match against Wales, this Wednesday at 20:00, the other semi-final of the Euro 2016 between France and Germany (tomorrow) and the final of this competition, on Sunday, where the selection of corners can be present if they win today's match.
On the same day of the Euro 2016 final, the well-known artist Tony Carreira will perform at Largo de São Francisco, whose concerts usually attract a lot of public, as part of the Festa Continente, which starts at 14 pm.
In Jardim Manuel Bívar there is also the Summer Crafts Fair, which can be visited from Thursday to Sunday, until the end of the month.
Tomorrow, Thursday, there is “Zumba no Relvado”, in the Leisure Park of Figuras. On Friday, the Baixa Street Fest kicks off, which will take place weekly until the 26th of August, during which local shops will be open at night and there will be music and street entertainment.
On Saturday, there is more sport, this time on two wheels. Estoi will host the «Resistance 3H night BTT Estoi» from 19:30. On the same day, at 21 pm, the Sociedade Recreativa Bordeirense presents the play of Revista à Portuguesa «From eight to eighty» at Teatro das Figuras.
The following weekend, Faro it becomes a Mecca for motorcyclists, and as usual, tens of thousands of people are expected to flock to the Algarve capital to participate in the Motard Concentration. The party starts on the 14th and lasts until the 17th of July, at Vale das Almas, with the poster including concerts by Fun Loving Criminals, Xutos e Pontapés, Carminho, Legendary Tiger Man and Frankie Chaves, among others.
On the 22nd of July, the traditional Book Fair begins, which can be visited in the Manuel Bívar Garden until the 7th of August. On the same day, close by, starts the Algarve Dance Festival, which will run until the 24th of July on the stage of the dock in Faro.
On the 23rd, a Saturday, Galeria Arco, headquarters of the ArQuente association, will host the musical «Old Jerusalem» from 19:30 pm, while the headquarters of the Philharmonic Association of Faro hosts the collective's end-of-season party, which includes a concert.
From the 28th of July, the typical gastronomy, made by the local shellfish collectors and nurserymen, will once again be queen in another Ria Formosa Festival. The gastronomic event, which is already a reference for good forks from all over the Algarve and from outside the region, it can be visited at Largo de São Francisco until the 7th of August.
On the 29th, Teatro das Figuras receives a concert by Moulinex and Chick, at 21 pm.
