The Castro Marim Council has reinforced its team for cleaning and clearing villages and forest land, to carry out conservation and development work on the natural and forest heritage in the different parishes of the municipality.
The cleaning in the parishes of Odeleite and Azinhal has already finished and is underway in the parishes of Castro Marim and Altura.
At the same time, the City Council reinforced the work of preservation and maintenance of the county's green spaces, namely in parks and gardens, allowing citizens and users to enjoy the right conditions and making the county more attractive to visitors.
The Castro-Marinean municipality had already created a forest intervention team, which has been on the ground since the beginning of July and thus deepens its commitment to preventing forest fires.
«The Municipality of Castro Marim recalls that forest fires are one of the main disasters in Portugal and calls on all residents and visitors to redouble their attention and follow some preventive measures, such as disposing of garbage in proper containers, making bonfires only in places authorized and to keep the surrounding areas clean, not throw cigarettes or matches on the ground and denounce any fire risks», appealed the Chamber of Castro Marim.
