The Municipality of Mértola delivered yesterday, July 11th, seven houses for social housing, on a supported lease basis, to needy families in the municipality.
The ceremony for handing over the houses took place in the Noble Hall of the Municipality of Mértola with the presence of the families and the vice-president, João Serrão Martins. After handing over the keys and signing the lease contracts, the technicians from the Chamber accompanied the families to their new homes.
As explained by the City Council, "the houses are located in the town of Mértola and allow seven families in the municipality to live in houses with all the safety and hygiene conditions and according to their needs."
The municipality of Alentejo, which has 49 houses in social renting, which benefit 112 people, says that «housing support is one of the priorities of the City Council in the social area».
