anti fossil campA “climate activism, self-managed and open” camp will take place at the campsite of Ilha de Tavira, from 21st to 24th July. This is the 1st “Anti-Fossil; Not one more hole!».

The program includes training on climate science, oil extraction in Portugal and non-violent direct action, as well as workshops, debates, film screening, parties and lots of entertainment.

This initiative brings together collectives from the anti-oil universe in the Algarve and throughout the country.

This initiative has as objectives, among others, the strategic definition of the fight against oil exploration in the country and the training of activists for the actions that are proposed to carry out in the future.

«The Portuguese coast was officially handed over to the oil companies – to drill, soil, extract and kill whatever they find there. All over the country, we are standing up – local populations, collectives, activists, concerned citizens – to protest, sign, and denounce what is happening. They had to start listening to us. But they came late: with the first hole announced by GALP for 3 August off the coast of Aljezur, we need to scale this fight!”, stress the organizers.
