Monte da Rocha dam ETAThe southern area of ​​the municipality of Mértola, with about 1100 inhabitants, will be supplied with water supplied by the Monte da Rocha Dam, announced the Municipality of Mértola.

On July 20, the mayor of Mértola accompanied the inauguration of the Monte da Rocha Water Treatment Plant (ETA), by the Minister of Environment João Pedro Matos Fernandes.

Located next to the Monte da Rocha dam, this new ETA, which is already in operation, produces water to supply the municipalities of Castro Verde, Almodôvar, Ourique and part of the municipality of Odemira.

It will also reach Mértola, benefiting several settlements in the southern part of the municipality and around 1100 inhabitants.

The investment required was in the order of 3,5 million euros, co-financed by the European Union, through the Thematic Operational Program for the Enhancement of the Territory, within the scope of the QREN.
