A French man was arrested in Vila Real de Santo António for drug trafficking and possession of a prohibited weapon. According to the Public Prosecutor's Office, who directed the inquiry, "the defendant has been dedicating himself for more than a year to the introduction and sale in Portugal, in Vila Real de Santo António, of cocaine that he purchased in Spain."
The man's arrest was made after a house search, and the now detainee "was on parole after having served part of a 6-year prison sentence" for the same crimes.
«After judicial interrogation carried out in Faro last Friday, and as requested by the Public Prosecutor's Office, the defendant was placed in preventive detention», adds the Public Prosecutor's Office.
