Uber is available in the Algarve from this Tuesday, but only until «end of summer» and in the area between Faro and Albufeira, announced the online transport platform.
Thus, the arrival of Uber in the Algarve is confirmed, which has been strongly contested by taxi drivers, mainly in Lisbon and Porto, but also in the region. Professionals from this sector gathered in protest at the end of April, anticipating the arrival of the service to the Algarve region, in the summer, which ended up happening.

“The uberX will have a base rate of 1 euro, plus 10 cents per minute and 80 cents per kilometer. The new uberXL will have a base rate of 1,5 euros, plus 15 cents per minute and 1,2 euros per kilometer», announced the platform.
