Praça da República, in Loulé, receives on June 29, at 21 pm, the seven Popular Marches of Quarteira that participate this year in the parade on the Calçadão Nascente.
The António Aleixo Foundation, the Florinhas de Quarteira, the Marcha Poeta Pardal, the Marcha da Rua Vasco da Gama, the Marcha da Rua da Cabine, the Marcha da Rua do Outeiro and the Marcha da Rua Gago Coutinho lead, according to the Câmara de Loulé , «very Portuguese themes and linked to the fishing traditions of Quarteira to the county seat, in a parade full of color and joy, which combines the beauty of the costumes with the choreographies and music created for this moment».
Through this joint initiative of the Municipality of Loulé, in partnership with APROMAR – Associação Promotora das Marchas Populares, «the intention is to show a little of this cultural wealth of the parish of Quarteira beyond its usual stage».
