Four all-terrain bicycles (MTB), equipped and customized, have already been delivered today by the Parish Council of Portimão to the Public Security Police (PSP), under a collaboration agreement signed between the two entities and under the project “Proximity Police”.
This project has as «primary objective the reduction of crime, together with the improvement of the quality of service provided to the citizen, as well as the improvement of efficiency and effectiveness indices of police action, being oriented towards the protection of citizens in general and, in particular, especially vulnerable people, such as children, young people, the elderly and victims of abuse», explains the Parish Council of Portimão.
The MTB bicycles were immediately placed at the service of the Portimão Division of the PSP and will “help in strengthening the proximity policing in some areas of the municipality, enabling the extension of the patrolling area and greater speed of action”.
