The first accident occurred at 6:26 am, at the intersection of Sargaçal, in the Chinicato area, near Lagos, involving a collision between a light car and a bus belonging to the transport company Transol.
This shock resulted in the death of the woman, around 50 years old, who was the driver and sole occupant of the car. The woman was imprisoned, was still assisted on the spot by the Lagos Fire Department, but ended up dying in hospital, due to the seriousness of the injuries.
The bus driver, who was traveling without passengers, suffered nothing.
Bombeiros de Lagos, three vehicles from INEM, PSP, Rotas do Algarve Litoral and GNR were at the site, in a total of eight vehicles and 22 operational.
The second accident, which involved a transfer van from the company Greenbus and a light car, occurred at 11:45 am, also on the EN125, on the straight between AlgarveShopping and the exit to Albufeira, in front of Giga Garden, causing five minor injuries.
According to the CDOS, two of those injured were transported to the Hospital de Faro and three for the Basic Emergency Service of the Albufeira Health Center.
The accident, despite not having had more serious consequences in terms of victims, caused long lines on the EN125, already very congested. Traffic was even cut off, in the Guia/Albufeira direction.
The fire department of Albufeira, Cruz Vermelha, INEM and GNR were there, providing assistance to the victims, in a total of nine vehicles and 19 operational.
