New music, to wink at a younger audience, yet without letting go of the alternative matrix that characterizes it, unpublished items, a new logo and even an anthem.

The Rádio Universitária do Algarve will enter "a new cycle", after betting on renewal, where new faces join long-time collaborators. This Tuesday, the night of the Academic Week is dedicated to UAlg radio and will serve to reveal what will change in RUA FM.

The new image of radio as well as a video promotional, where the RUA FM anthem will be presented for the first time, will be unveiled tonight, but the change can already start to be heard later this afternoon.

«Let's have a new playlist, in which we are going to introduce new songs, a little more commercial, but without exaggerating, always keeping the alternative nature that characterizes RUA FM», he revealed to Sul Informação Fúlvia Almeida, the new director of Rádio Universitária do Algarve.

The bet on new music and that it somehow fits into the mainstream, intends to convince the younger audience, namely university students, to become more connected to the US radio station.

Even so, the same author programs will not cease to exist, “in which the alternative component is, in general, much more pronounced”.

The music, but created internally, will also have a prominent role in the promotional video that will be presented today. «We had the collaboration of Teresa Aleixo, Teresa da Silva, Realpunch, João Tiago [Name] and Tunas Feminis Ferventis and Versus Tuna. All with wonderful volunteer work», said Fúlvia Almeida.

These are the new features that will be released today, but there are more changes in the pipeline that will be introduced gradually.

From next week onwards, live entertainment will be available every weekday, starting at 8:00 am, repeating itself in the late afternoon, in a bet on prime time, when many people travel by car.

The return of the great interview program Impressões, made in partnership between the Sul Informação and RUA FM, where personalities from the most diverse areas will be present at the regional, national and even international level.

Algarve University Radio

The partnership between the two media will continue in the new section "Highlights of the Day", in which journalists from the Sul Informação will make a daily press review, with hot topics of the present time.

In addition to looking for partners abroad, RUA FM also decided to look more inside the academy itself. An example of this desire to bring the University even further into the radio is the cycle of reports «Frente e Verso», made by students of the Communication Sciences course in the scope of Radio Journalism, taught by journalist Mário Antunes.

«With this project, we want to make students look at the University. It is a way for them to discover the academy themselves, which they do not always know well, and to show it to outsiders», according to Fúlvia Almeida.

The idea is that, every year, students produce new works within the scope of this subject. “Those who make the play this year and want to continue collaborating are welcome. We want to reinforce the informational component of the radio», said the new director of the radio.

Moreover, there has already been internal training, «a workshop short, of a week', where it was tried to give the 18 participants the basics of radio 'to create the little animal'.
