Like the Sul Informação yesterday reported first hand, Passeio das Dunas will take place tomorrow, Saturday, at 11:30 am, officially inaugurated by Prime Minister António Costa. But already today, at this time, the new equipment is being inaugurated in practice by being the stage of the 2nd edition of Algarve Nature Week.

This work concerns the first phase of a structuring project for Quarteira, as it allowed the creation of a sidewalk connecting Vilamoura, with green and leisure spaces, and which privileges pedestrian and cyclist circulation, enhancing the contact with the sea and functioning as a new point of attraction.

The Passeio das Dunas came to rehabilitate what was known as one of the “black spots” of the Algarve's urbanism, where the old fishermen's neighborhood functioned for years.

This intervention, carried out between Rua da Armação, in Quarteira, and the front of the Crowne Plaza Hotel (formerly Hotel Atlantis), bordered on the south by the beaches and the fishing port of Quarteira and on the north by Vala Real, was also part of the resolution. the problem of Vala Real, with its partial coverage.

The work had a cost of around 4 million euros, financed by the PO Algarve21, with a contribution from the ERDF of around 2,9 million euros.
