Portimonense was concerned about refereeing at Feirense's games, rivals for the promotion of the division, and asked the Portuguese Football Federation's Refereeing Council to make «nominations that guarantee the good image of football and , in essence, the integrity of competitions'.

Referee Fábio Veríssimo will referee the game of Portimonense against Varzim and Artur Soares Dias o Chaves – Feirense, a game on which the Algarve depends to reach the Premier League, since, if Feirense wins, it automatically guarantees the climb.

Statistically, Portimonense doesn't have many reasons to complain from Fábio Veríssimo. The referee from Leiria whistled the games of Alvinegros on five occasions and Portimonense only lost once, last season, by 0-1, against Sporting B.

Interestingly, away from home, the team coached by José Augusto never lost when Fábio Veríssimo was the “master of the whistle”, which could be a good sign for the match against Varzim.

Since the nominations for Feirense's games were criticized by Portimonense, the Sul Informação he also analyzed the performance of the Santa Maria da Feira team with Artur Soares Dias as referee.

This season, the international referee of the Football Association of Porto whistled matches between the “fogaceiros” on two occasions and, on both occasions, Feirense failed to win. Over the years, the balance between wins, draws and losses is more balanced.

The same cannot be said of Chaves, who has no reason to complain about Artur Soares Dias. On six occasions that the referee whistled the Flavienses, the team, which has already guaranteed the rise to the First League, has never lost.
