Hearts to the High_performance_01The Misericórdia Church, in Aljezur, had this Saturday sold out to watch (and participate) in the presentation of the vocal performance of the project «Corações ao Alto», by Margarida Mestre, with the participants in the ateliers-essays. The presentation takes place again this Sunday, at 11:30 am, in the same place, always with free entry.

The daily workshops, which took place from the 23rd to the 27th of May, lasting two hours, had 23 participants from very different age groups, coming from various municipalities in the Algarve.

«Corações ao Alto» is a set of vocal pieces, originally built from the experience of listening to the sounds of religious celebrations that take place in the city of Lisbon.

Hearts to the High_performance_06Margarida Mestre, the choir supervisor, went to watch these practices and then, with great care and musical sense, built with the group of participants the musical score that composes the piece. The themes were inspired by the sounds of religions: Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism and Sufism.

This presentation is produced by Tertúlia Associação Sócio-Cultural de Aljezur and is part of the program for the Dissemination and Valorization of Monuments (DiVaM), promoted by the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve.
