tolls on the infant's roadThe Association of Commerce and Services of the Algarve Region wants the Government to suspend the collection of tolls on the A22, while the works on the EN125 are ongoing. Once this intervention is completed, ACRAL admits that a fee will be charged again, but 50 percent lower than what is currently practiced.

"We are reaching the high season and the EN125 has not yet been upgraded: in many parts of the Algarve, the works are simply stopped or are taking place at a very slow pace", warns the president of ACRAL Álvaro Viegas.

With the EN125 under construction, considers Álvaro Viegas, «companies, professionals, and everyone who needs to use the road, must be compulsorily diverted to Via do Infante, and this brings enormous costs».

The president of ACRAL reminds that, if a private person, with a light car, is already complicated to pay the toll on Via do Infante, for professionals, it is even worse, as they have to use that road «every day, sometimes more than once a day».

"Companies cannot bear the costs of tolls on Via do Infante: there is an objective loss for the regional economy and this has to be resolved", defended Álvaro Viegas.

The president of ACRAL took the opportunity to recall that the PS, currently in government, promised to halve the price of tolls by 50 percent, during the electoral campaign of the Legislative Elections, which would be "a good measure for the regional economy", by who hopes to see the promise fulfilled.
