Ceramics WorkshopA “prehistoric” Ceramics Workshop in two sessions, with the sculptor Sara Navarro, is the proposal of the Grupo dos Amigos do Museu de Portimão and the museum structure itself.

The first session is scheduled for Sunday, March 13, between 15 pm and 00 pm, at the Museu de Portimão.

In this first session of the workshop, Sara navarro it wants to “correspond to the fascination we all feel for objects that come to us from the archaeological past”.

This is how, «looking at the shape of prehistoric ceramics and the multiple decorative patterns», participants will model and create pieces that evoke and recreate them.

In the second session, which will take place on April 16 (Saturday) and will be part of the “A Day in Prehistory” initiative, as part of the commemorations of the International Day of Monuments and Sites, which will take place at the Megalithic Monuments of Alcalar, the participants of the first session will cook the previously produced pieces over an open fire, as was done 5000 years ago.

Registration costs 20 euros for members of the GAMP-Group of Friends of the Portimão Museum and 30 euros for non-members.

The initiative is supported by the DiVaM Program of the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve.
