BTL 2016The Algarve won in three categories at the Publituris Portugal Trade Awards'16, delivered yesterday, March 2, at the opening of BTL – International Tourism Fair, in Lisbon.

Thus, Salgados Palace & Congress Center won in the category of Best Space for Congress, Zoomarine was the winner in the category of Best Park/Touristic Entertainment Company, while Vilamoura was considered the Best Marina.

The awards ceremony for the Publituris Portugal Trade Awards, which distinguishes the most distinguished personalities and companies in the national tourism sector, was attended by the Secretary of State for Tourism, Ana Mendes Godinho, and the president of Turismo de Portugal, Luís Araújo.

The Publituris Portugal Trade Awards are a co-organization between the Publituris newspaper and BTL – Feira Internacional de Turismo.

The winners were chosen based on a weighted average between the votes of subscribers to the Publituris newsletter (40%) and the votes of the jury (60%) composed of: André Jordan, businessman; Armando Rocha, consultant partner at Neoturis; António Loureiro, regional director of TravelPort Portugal, Spain and Brazil; Bernardo Trindade, former Secretary of State for Tourism; Fátima Vila Maior, director of BTL; Frederico Costa, president of Visabeira Turismo; José Carlos Pinto Coelho, president of Onyria Hotels & Resorts; Jorge Rebelo de Almeida, president of the Vila Galé Group; José Castelão Costa, president of Pousadas de Portugal; José Manuel Esteves, general director of AHRESP; Humberto Ferreira, journalist; Luís Correia da Silva, former Secretary of State for Tourism; Luis Veiga, president of the Hotel Association of Portugal; Paulo Brilhante, coordinator of Boa Cama, Boa Mesa; Pedro Rodrigues, coordinator of Desafio Global Ativism, Vítor Neto, former secretary of State for Tourism, Cândido Rodam, administration president of Grupo Global Set UP and Rodrigo Pinto Barros, president of APHORT.
