This Sunday, the Alportel area, in the municipality of São Brás, will host a Carnival march/race. The initiative starts at 10 am, at Largo da Igreja, and will count with the presence of João Manuel Rocha, who won a TV contest dedicated to weight loss.
The City Council of São Brás de Alportel highlights the location of the event: «the Alportel site is historically associated with the passage of cork-trees that once circulated along National Road 2, sharing stories and memories in the Museum Center that is located there».
This initiative, organized by the Municipality of São Brás de Alportel, in partnership with the Portuguese Institute of Sport and Youth, comprises 2 different routes, one of 5,5 km and the other more demanding of 10,5 km.
The first circuit takes place on the road, while the second, longer one, «covers some of the most beautiful corners of the Serra do Caldeirão, passing through Cova da Muda, Fonte da Silva and Parque da Fonte Férrea», reveals the municipality.
