Rural Development Congress (3)The Algarve Central Local Action Group, coordinated by the In Loco association, will manage an amount of around 3,5 million euros for local development projects in rural areas.

This Wednesday, contracts were signed in Ponte de Sôr between the Government and the different structures created to be the local managers of the Community-Based Local Development – ​​rural initiative, launched under the Community Support Framework Portugal 2020.

The regional development association In Loco was present at the ceremony, as a representative of the Algarve Central Local Action Group, made up of 38 partner entities, public and private.

Its territory of intervention includes the parishes of Guia, Paderne, Santa Bárbara de Nexe, Union of the parishes of Conceição and Estoi, Alte, Ameixial, Boliqueime, Salir, São Sebastião, Union of the parishes of Querença, Tôr and Benafim, Pechão, União from the parishes of Moncarapacho and Fuseta, São Brás de Alportel, São Bartolomeu de Messines, São Marcos da Serra, Cachopo, Santa Catarina da Fonte do Bispo, Union of the Parishes of Luz de Tavira and Santo Estêvão.

This group and its many counterparts across the country will receive, together, a total of 242,2 million euros.

«The Community-Based Local Development – ​​rural is a program for the use of Portugal 2020 funds in local projects. Diversification and revitalization of the local economy and job creation are the objectives of the program whose operationalization involved the constitution of local action groups (LAG) and the identification of local development strategies (EDL) that allow for the contracting of concrete projects for which can access individual or legal persons. The opening of candidacy periods is expected shortly», announced In Loco, in a press release.
