The SOS Ria Formosa/Je Suis Ilhéu movement is going to the Assembly of the Republic this Wednesday to deliver a petition against demolitions on the barrier islands of Ria Formosa, with 4300 signatures.
A delegation of anti-demolition activists will be received by Vice President of the Assembly of the Republic José de Matos Correia at 12:30 pm, to whom he will deliver the petition “For the defense of the historical, cultural, social and environmental heritage of the Ria Formosa”.
The islanders also requested "a meeting with all the Parliamentary Groups of all the parties represented in the AR to explain the reasons for their struggle and also to sensitize the deputies to the cause".
