The musical “Um Natal Iluminado” will have its world premiere in Portuguese at the Municipal Theater of Portimão (TEMPO) on Saturday, December 19, in two sessions, at 16:00 pm and 21:30 pm.
Under the artistic direction of Henrique Ramiro and concertina João Pedro Cunha, the musical, lasting approximately 60 minutes, brings together the choir of Igrejas Baptistas do Algarve and the Orquestra Clássica of the Conservatório de Portimão Joly Braga Santos to celebrate Christmas 2015.
This partnership, the result of the success achieved at Christmas 2014 with the musical “Welcome to our world”, presented in several cities in the Algarve, was the motto to bring these entities together again in a new musical show, Broadway style, to celebrate Christmas 2015.
The musical portrays the story of a family going through a serious crisis on Christmas Eve, when her husband suddenly loses his job, which brings a lot of instability and frustration for his wife. As she goes for a walk and tries to put her thoughts in order, she will be taken on a fascinating adventure into the past, which will change her life completely and reveal a new meaning to what she thought she knew until then: Love.
“A Christmas Lighted”, in the original “Under a Starry Sky”, is a musical by Joey Lindsey and Jeff Bumgarder, with text by Heidi Petak, arranged and orchestrated by Daniel Semsen.
This Broadway-style musical was released this year in May, and is therefore unprecedented, it will have its world premiere in Portuguese in the Algarve.
