Besides 53rd position in the race's overall standings, the “Challenge” was also 9th in the ORCi-Div3 class, 11th in IRC-Div4, 12th Corinthian and 22nd in IRC.

The crew of the «Challenge», a Sydney 38, commanded by Chris Mrakas, completed the race this Wednesday, December 30, at 11:48:29 local time, having spent a total of 4 days 10 hours 48 minutes 29 seconds in the crossing 628 nautical miles between Sydney Harbor, in the Australian state of New South Wales, and the city of Hobart, in the Australian island of Tasmaniaa.

The absolute winner of the race was the American sailboat «Comanche», by Jim & Kristy Clark, which ended on the 28th, taking only 2 days 8 hours 58 minutes and 30 seconds to complete the crossing.

At the moment, there are still 25 boats to finish the race, with 31 of the 110 sailboats registered having already been on the way in this difficult race, most of them with problems in the sails due to the strong winds and the state of the sea.

The «Challenge» had a crew of ten people – eight Australians, one Spanish and one Portuguese – with Chris Makras as skipper, and also including A. Gilbert, D. Charlton, D. Connaughton, D. Richards, E. Patterson, G Cantwell, J. Anderson, M. Molina and Luís Brito.
