That's what happened this morning, around 10:00 am, on Rua Vasco da Gama, in Quarteira. According to Liliana Sacadas, the author of the video we share here, the “improvised diver” is a young man named Luís Prazeres.
«He went to wear his diving suit with the intention of going to the fishermen's dock, to see if everything was OK with his boat», having taken advantage of the authentic lake that was formed in that area to take a dip.
Liliana Sacadas says that, at the moment, the height of the water in the area is even greater, and it is already causing damage to shops and cafes. «Nonot my cafe, but further on the shops are full of water”, he told our newspaper, adding that people “are desperate”.
In addition to Quarteira, there are also floods in the city of Albufeira. RTP reports that, in the area of bars in Albufeira, the street is inaccessible due to the height of the water.
