The Minister of Internal Affairs was in Boliqueime this afternoon to "pay honor and wish the greatest condolences" to the family of the deadly victim that bad weather caused.

Calvão da Silva insisted on passing the place where the fatal accident occurred, the road between the Kadoc disco and Boliqueime Station, more precisely the tunnel area that passes under the railway line.

Later, in Albufeira, the government official reaffirmed that he had made "a point of starting the visit by presenting his condolences to the bereaved family", adding that the mortal victim "delivered himself to God and God, for sure, who reserved a suitable place for him".

In the nearby town of Cerca da Areia, the population was talking about what had happened. According to testimonies from local inhabitants, the 79-year-old man had seen his way blocked by the water that rose to the middle of the tunnel under the railway line, near the Train Station, and, when trying to turn back, his small car, a Smart, will have been dragged by the water that overflowed from the existing stream there and dragged into a ditch full of water.

Today, Monday, it was still possible to see the trail of destruction left by the weather, at the accident site, despite the road being already clear. A metal fence that ran along an existing field is partially destroyed and many of the plates that make it up have been twisted by the force of the water. The wall that supported them collapsed, to a good extent.
