The show opens on Friday at XNUMX pm.

This exhibition was born from the hands of Master José Cardoso Brito, «a curious, interested and committed autodidact, one of the few artists to develop this work, and whose motto is: “With work, patience, affection, perseverance and taste, everything can be resolved”, he says. the Chamber of Olhão.

The replica collection that the model maker presents, on a 1/10 scale, reproduces some of the originals exhibited at the National Coach Museum.

«In the period between the XNUMXth and XNUMXth centuries, in Portugal, a monarchic regime with absolutist characteristics predominated, based on the rigid stratification of society into three large groups: the Clergy, the Nobility and the People. The King represented the deity on Earth. In art there is also a reflection of all this aura of opulence, which seeks surprise and fascination, in a true appeal to the senses», contextualizes the Municipality of Olhão.

«The means of transport, especially those of the higher classes, were the mirror of these ideals, overflowing with magnificence through the decorations, especially in gilded wood. In this way, the social status of its owner was made known, whenever his coach passed by”, adds the municipality.
