Living Science Center FaroThe Living Science Center of the Algarve, in Faro, will have, this weekend, two free activities. On Saturday, between 15:00 pm and 17:00 pm, the CCV will teach how to set up an aquarium and, on Sunday, at the closing of the International Ocean Discovery Program, Hélder Pereira will give a lecture on the experience of a teacher aboard the Joides Resolution. This initiative is scheduled for 14:00.

As CCVAlg explains, about the first activity, «learning how to set up an aquarium is very important for those who one day think they have fish at home. You need to know if they are freshwater or saltwater fish, whether they are hot or cold water because there are differences in equipment and other materials. Creating the ideal conditions for them to live is very important».

This initiative has the collaboration of researcher Paulo Gavaia from CCMAR – UAlg and invites the public to discover the CCVAlg aquariums, «how they work and the daily maintenance routines».

On Sunday, CCVAlg invites you to «visit, or revisit, the exhibition on the International Ocean Discovery Program through the eyes of those who have already participated in Joides Resolution missions and used the resources that the program makes available for both teaching and research. ».
