São Brás Costume MuseumThe next session of the cycle «Entre Arquivos» is dedicated to information systems in museums and will take place on Saturday, October 24, at the Museu do Traje, in S. Brás de Alportel. Paula Moura will talk about «Information Management in Museums: an approach to its study».

After the conference there will be a free visit to the museum.

This presentation aims to address the integrated management of information in a museological context - or using international terminology - memory institutions, when we refer to museums, libraries and archives -, through the presentation of the different types of information associated with it, as well as the needs for identification, rules and procedures when processing it.

The use of Information and Communication Technologies in the cultural environment is also addressed, as digital is associated with an added value for organizations, enhancing the integration of all informational typologies, streamlining their treatment, control, access and availability of information.

Since 2002 Paula Moura has been a senior library and documentation technician at the Museu dos Transportes e Comunicações. In 1996, he completed his degree in Historical-Sciences (scientific branch) at the Universidade Portucalense.

In October 2009 he completed a Masters in Information Management at the University of Aveiro, developing his dissertation in the area of ​​information management in cultural organizations.

Between 2001-2006, he attended postgraduate courses in Documentary Sciences, in the variant, libraries and documentation centers (2001-2003) and, in the archives variant (2003-2006), at the Universidade Portucalense.
