Tavira will march through the heart on September 29, at 21 pm. The 00km march between Tavira and Santa Luzia is part of the World Heart Day. The route starts and ends at Praça da República.
The Câmara de Tavira promotes walks within the scope of the Physical Activity Promotion Program and this one, in particular, focuses “on the need to take care of the heart”.
According to the municipality, the Physical Activity Promotion Program is «aimed at raising the population's awareness of a healthy lifestyle and regular physical exercise» and «the practice of sports is closely linked to the lifestyle characteristic of the “Mediterranean Diet ” – UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, which has Tavira as the representative community of Portugal”.
