odemireOdemira commemorates, next Tuesday, September 8th, the Municipality Day and will pay homage to 91 individuals and entities in the municipality, which have stood out in the areas of culture, economy, social, health, education and sports.

The Municipality Day Ceremony is scheduled to start at 9:30 am, in Jardim Sousa Prado, in Odemira, with the performance of the Vila Nova de Milfontes Choir Group.

In the cultural area, three entities will be honored, the Sociedade Recreativa S. Teotoniense, the School of Traditional Music and the Escolinha das Artes, as well as three individuals: Antero Silva (stimulator of choral and singing groups), Leonel Guilherme ( miller at Moinho Municipal) and Daniel Luz (builder of chordophones, especially of viola campaniça).

In the scope of the economy, six companies will be honored: GO Berrys, Lda, Ilídio Fragoso & Filhos, Lda, Superteotónio – Supermercados, Lda, Touril – Agroturismo, Lda and Caprino de Odemira.

In the Social and Health areas, the GAVA – Office for Support to Victims and Aggressors and the Association of Blood Donors of Vale de Santiago are distinguished. In the field of education, the Nossa Senhora da Graça College in Vila Nova de Milfontes is honored.

In collective sports, the Odemira Sports and Cultural Center, the Praia de Milfontes Sports Club and the Odemira Professional School are honored, which stood out in athletics, football and futsal, respectively.
