Assunção Cristas, minister of Agriculture and the Sea, will participate tomorrow, at 18:15 pm, in the inauguration of the III Mediterranean Diet Fair, in Tavira.
The Fair, which will run until 6th September, in the riverside and historic center of the city, with free entry, is part of the Safeguard Plan for the Mediterranean Diet – Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
The program features attractions for all audiences, from the institutional fair, producers' market and the SlowMed International Festival, to culinary workshops, Praça da Convivialidade with restaurants, music and Mediterranean dance workshops, popular dances, nutritional and cardiology counseling, traditional games , themed exhibitions, release of editions, toys and games for children and an exhibition of Mediterranean species.
"It will be another moment of celebration of cultures and sharing, arts, valuing local products from the land and sea, meeting friends around the table, transmitting knowledge about healthy eating and behavior", stresses the Chamber de Tavira, main promoter of the event.
On the first day, between 18:00 and midnight, there will be an Arruada by Banda Musical de Tavira, Workshop of Mediterranean dances by Tradballs, fado and flamenco with Juan Santamaria, Rancho Folclórica de Tavira, Alentejo sing with Pedro Mestre and Grupo Coral “ Campaniça do Despique”, fado and sounds from Lebanon and the Mediterranean with Rabih Abou-Khail and Ricardo Ribeiro, and, at the end of the night, a popular dance by Tradballs.
