NIC AlbufeiraA 30-year-old man was arrested yesterday morning in Albufeira for drug trafficking. The man, who was traveling in a car, accompanied by his father, was approached by soldiers in the GNR, who found "a considerable dose of narcotic product" when they searched him. In house searches, carried out later, the Guard seized 3600 doses of hashish.

The GNR Command of Faro he believes he has "made a strong contribution to the fight against drug trafficking in the municipality of Albufeira" with this arrest.

According to the GNR in a statement, the behavior and posture adopted by the two men, in the middle of the street in Albufeira, after being aware of the presence of the military, "grew their suspicions about the activity they were developing".

"Following the approach to the vehicle in which they were circulating, and after a personal security search was carried out on the two individuals, it was possible to verify that the main suspect had in his possession a considerable amount of narcotic product, namely hashish", adds the GNR.

During the house search of the suspect's house, located in the Montechoro area, 3600 doses of hashish were seized, mostly in the form of plaque and acorn, as well as a small amount of marijuana.

In addition to the drugs, a precision digital scale, a slurry mill, five mobile phones and 300 euros were also seized. The GNR also collected objects related to drug trafficking, sold directly to the consumer.

The detainee's father, 53, and his companion, 21, were also named as defendants.

The man arrested already had a criminal record for drug trafficking and was present at the DIAP in Portimão to apply coercive measures.
