The access road to Cachopo (EM 397) and the Picnic Park of Água dos Fusos, in the municipality of Tavira, will undergo improvement works. The road recovery project, which begins on October 5, will cost the City Council around 289 euros.
According to the Municipality of Tavira, in a note sent to the newsrooms, the current "depressions in the carriageway that hinder circulation, as well as the absence of painting and horizontal traffic signs."
The work should be completed within seven months, and «in addition to the paving, painting and signaling of the road, the contract includes an urgent intervention on the slope, with a very steep slope at km 36, at Picota site, with a view to containment of the unstable mass'.
The Câmara de Tavira believes that «this intervention will provide the necessary conditions for a pleasant stay at the Agua de Fusos Luncheon Park, also through the replacement of vegetation and existing equipment before the 2012 fire».
The repair of the road was awarded to the company José de Sousa Barra & Filhos for €289.366,07.
