An artisanal fishing boat sank during this morning, when it was around 2:00 am, in the fishing port of Portimão. The vessel is said to have been trapped in one of the support structures of the port and, with the tide rising, it began to take in water until it turned over.
Rogério Galvão, the owner of “Sol à Vista”, in conversation with the Sul Informação, says that “the port has no conditions. It has skewers skewered to moor the boats. Docapesca should do it, but it does not do maintenance».
It was in one of these “spiked bars” that the boat “fitted and, with the rising tide, began to take in water until it turned over”, explains Rogério Galvão.
The damages, these, are considerable since «everything was broken: the fiber cabin, the engine, which was internal… It had 2 GPS, probe…». In total, «about 20 thousand euros and wasted time», lamented the owner.
