The fire has two active fronts and is "progressing in an area with difficult access to land resources", according to the website of the National Civil Protection Authority.

There are 101 operators at the site, supported by 28 vehicles and three crawlers from the Silves City Council. As it is night, there is no possibility of firefighters on the ground being supported by air.
