A fire has been consuming an area of forest in the town of Vale da Porta, in São Marcos da Serra, municipality of Silves, since 18:36 today.
The fire has two active fronts and is "progressing in an area with difficult access to land resources", according to the website of the National Civil Protection Authority.
contacted by Sul Informação, the CDS of Faro he added that, despite the difficulty in accessing the fire zone, "there are no sensitive points", that is, goods and people are not at stake, at least for the time being.
There are 101 operators at the site, supported by 28 vehicles and three crawlers from the Silves City Council. As it is night, there is no possibility of firefighters on the ground being supported by air.
