SlowMedFood from different Mediterranean countries, in a version slow, will be highlighted at the SlowMed International Festival, an initiative held within the scope of the Mediterranean Diet Fair, which takes place in Tavira from 4 to 6 September.

This event involves six Mediterranean countries – Italy, Egypt, Portugal, Palestine, Spain and Lebanon – «on a mission to survey the collective memory in the territories involved, to recover the Mediterranean food, artistic and cultural wisdom, of creation for the contemporary audience. new business opportunities around the Mediterranean Diet and its affirmation as a form of dialogue between peoples of the Mediterranean context», revealed the association In Loco.

For three days, 90 guests will be in Tavira to debate, deepen and promote the Mediterranean Diet as a healthy lifestyle, in a vast program of activities open to the public.

The protagonists will be 24 Chefs, 24 filmmakers, six nutritionists, six experts in communication and food, researchers, writers and national and foreign officials for organizations working on issues of culture, gastronomy, documentary film and food.

Among the activities planned are an international Mediterranean fusion diet competition, national and fusion gastronomic demonstrations and an international documentary competition. There will also be seminars, exhibitions, debates, gatherings, theater and music.
