The Alcantarilha Dried Fruit Fair will take place on the 4th, 5th and 6th of September, with the official opening being scheduled for entities and Guests at 18:30 pm on the 4th. The initiative, which is in its XIV edition, is a joint organization the Municipality of Silves and the local Parish Council.
The first day of the event will be particularly dedicated to communities, as a time of Musical Entertainment is planned with the performance of the Duo Noémia Duarte and António Cardoso at 20:00, as well as the performance of the Folklore Group of Faro, at 22 pm. The event will close at 00:02.
The 05th of September will have the artisans as prominent figures.
This time, the Fair will open at 17:00 pm and will close at 02:00 am, with two musical moments again: one at 20:00 pm, with Duo Paulo and Sónia, and another at 22:00 pm, with Mariza Duvall and Bailarinas.
The sweets will be highlighted on the 06th, the last day of the event, which will again open its doors at 17:00 and will close earlier, at 00:00. The music will be present, performing the musician Paulo Coelho (Accordion and voice).
This event, which seeks to preserve some aspects of the immaterial culture of this parish, strongly linked to the cultivation and treatment of dried and dried fruit, has the support of the Algarve Regional Agriculture Department and is sponsored by: Aqualand, Delta Cafés, Crédito Agrícola Silves /Alcantarilha, Super Bock.
Several institutions also collaborate in the event: Casa do Povo of Alcantarilha, Pêra and Armação de Pêra, National Scout Body – Group 587 Alcantarilha, GADAG-Adventure and Sport Group of Alcantarilha Gare, Parish of Alcantarilha, Sociedade Recreativa Alcantarilhense.
