pingo_sweet_interiorThe distribution chain reinforces its presence in the south of the country, at the time of the highest sales peak. Three supermarkets have opened in recent days, one will open later this month and the fifth will open in August. In total, 170 direct jobs will be created.

Pingo Doce has just opened three more stores in the Algarve, located in Albufeira (Caliços), Quinta do Lago and Vale do Lobo.

Explored until mid- June by Alisuper, supermarkets underwent a refurbishment, having now opened to the public with a totally different concept. The three spaces will employ around 80 employees.

Despite being "relatively small stores", they have "all the sections of the larger supermarkets and have a range of different assortments in view of the needs of consumers in this region and especially at this time of year", stresses the chain.

«The wine cellar and the takeaways these are the areas where customers will notice greater differentiation», highlighted Argemiro Longo, Algarve Operations Director.

A new store will be inaugurated this month in Tavira, while in mid-August a new store will open in Faro (Montenegro). These two stores were built from scratch and will employ a total of 90 employees.

After opening a Distribution Center in Algoz (Silves), in early 2014, Pingo Doce bets on expanding the number of stores in the Algarve, going to a total of 27.
